Gauging Interest - Art Enrichment
Hi! I’m signed up to lead an art class next year. I am thinking of trying it with just a small group of high school students. I am NOT formally trained in art but am teaching myself now as it’s my passion, figured I could help the students with what I’m learning and we could all practice together.
Looking to see if this would be of interest to anyone. It’s going to be a ton of planning, probably a higher cost, and effort on part of the students to help clean up their spaces before leaving.
My rough plan is 1st semester Art Foundations 101 and 2nd semester would be Abstract Acrylics and Mixed Media with the pre req of taking Art Foundations 101.

This sounds amazing!
I know you said you would be following along with the lessons your taking yourself but I came across this today which made me think of you. Curriculum & Resources for Educators | NMWA - This is the link to the National Museum of Women in the Arts, in Washington DC. It has pre-written lesson plans for a variety of art subjects, mediums and materials and a Vocabulary list. I just thought some of them might help make some of the planning easy. I would bet that other Art Museums also have premade teacher resources that could have lessons that would coincide with the lesson you are working on.
