Sub needed 2nd hr PreK - Music & Movement
Who wants to spend 2nd hour with the best little group of humans? I sadly need a sub for 2nd hour Preschool Music & Movement due to a family emergency.
I have some items in the big green “preschool” bag that I will reference below that can be used during the class. They are all in a sheet protector and the bag is in the classroom by the front door.
Playing the music linked below would be great to fill time with their favorites. The links are to youtube videos - I DO NOT show the videos, we just listen to the music.
Having a bluetooth speaker would be a great bonus, but through your phone is A-OK too. I just tell them we are practicing singing LOUDER than the music today :)
If Ms. Lisa is there, ask if she can lead the “_____ is here today!” song. It’s a welcome song we sing using each friend's name. Maybe the kids even know it enough to teach you??

Take a break and read a book: Read/Sing “Old MacDonald” from the supplies in the preschool bag
Sing “Wheels on the Bus” with the popsicle stick pictures in the preschool bag. Each child gets a popsicle stick and stands when it’s their turn in the song.
Coloring break! We typically head to the table to color/craft. I should have extra coloring pages also in the preschool bag. If I do not, please trace a large oval/egg on the scrap lined paper in the green prek bag and let them decorate an Easter egg. Crayons are also in the preK bag to use.
Snack & Play time: Whenever they are done coloring they can have snack or play time for 10-15mins
Final Songs. I play a few favorites to end our time together, kids can join in or keep playing if they wish. Once done with these songs remind them to go potty before gym, and keep playing until Mrs. Brandon comes in for gym class.

Freeze Dance! Follow the song for movements
Floor is Lava! Each kid may grab ONE carpet square for themselves and place it anywhere in the room. Dance around during the song and then run to your square when the “floor is lava!”
Thank you to whoever fills in! When in doubt, they can always get a little extra playtime today with the toys.
