Enrichment

I was wondering if there was any interest in a class that covered a one act play. I think the class would be geared for 6th and up, the play would probably run 30 minutes so we could preform it for Showcase, and would have very simple costumes but not likely have any sets. (Unless someone would like to run a concurrent class on set creation and design, which would work nicely)

I'm hoping for a comedy of some sort, nothing too serious. But I need ideas on appropriate material.

I have a speech and debate background so I'm comfortable with dramatic reading and helping kids with interpretation and delivering lines, but I don't have a theater background so I don't immediately have any ideas on material.

I'd also really love a co-teacher who thinks they could have a better idea than I do about blocking, casting, games ect. Just so you know, the bar is pretty low here- anyone with interest, an ability to model scenes & delivery, and a sense of adventure could apply! In fact, I won't run this without a co-teacher.

Thoughts? Let me know below in the comments if you or your kids would be interested. The sooner the better as I like to have a solid idea before committing to taking the class on and getting it formally on the schedule.

*Attending showcase would be an expectation of the class.
