Situational Awareness and Self Defense class (teens and adults)

I'm in the process of gauging interest.

This is the class that was offered last week in Kenosha. For those who missed it, would you be interested in attending either of these sessions if I can set them up? (Feel free to text me with questions 262-308-5413)

Situational Awareness Class (4hrs.) (length of class dependent on questions and overall participation).

In today’s world, we may worry about our children’s safety, particularly when we cannot be there every second as they get older. They also face more social obstacles than ever with electronics and peer pressure. To help them know how to be safe when we are not there, law enforcement professional Jared Harper will be teaching our tweens and teens the importance of situational awareness, knowing what is going around you and why it is so important. This class is aimed toward middle and high school kids, but parents are sure to gain from it as well. This class might not be suitable for younger children.

Below is a list of topics that we may cover over the course of this class:

Prayer and pledge of allegiance, Biblical correlations, Bible verses, 5 firearm safety rules, How to clear a firearm, Situational awareness, Tactics, What to look for: Environment breakdown/observations (things to look for), Color codes of awareness, Conflict awareness, avoidance, de-escalation, and negotiation, Personal protection plan (creating a plan/ preparing), How to read body language, Brain functions in high stress, Common dangers, Trafficking, Bullying, Manipulative people, Basic defense, Escape options,

Below is a message from the instructor:

Salutations, And thank you for considering either joining or allowing your young adult to attend my class. My name is Jared Harper and I have a bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement Justice Administration with a minor in social psychology. I also have attended an in-depth internship with the Kane County Sheriff's Department. I have taught seminars in college on body language, and have over 10 years, from 6 different disciplines, of martial arts/self-defense training. I have been involved in youth ministries for over 10 years including camps, retreats, church leadership, street evangelism, and apologetics. I have also done work in the war against human trafficking. I am a certified firearms instructor through the United States Conceal Carry Association (USCCA) and a range safety officer through the National Rifle Association (NRA). Most importantly, I am a Child of God. I want to let you know that I truly believe that God put me on this earth to serve and protect those whom Christ gave his life for. So I teach people how to protect themselves. My goal in this course is to equip whoever joins with the skills to deal with situations they may not feel safe in, while also being a light on the hill for God. I will also be using biblical text to give a foundation to these concepts. Thank you for your consideration in joining. May Christ be praised.

Self-defense class (3hrs):

This is a follow-up to the situational awareness class that will be more hands-on. It is suggested that you attend the situational awareness class to know more about what we will be talking about and doing in this class.
