Gauging interest for a cake decorating class in winter enrichment
Class 1: Cake Decorating grades 4-6
Class 2: Cake Decorating grades 2-3
Students will learn the basics of cake decorating using frosting bags and tips. A new skill will be taught and practiced each week on pattern papers and cupcakes. For 4-6 graders the final project will be a decorated 9” cake.
The teacher will provide the cupcakes and cakes. STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS are welcome however the parent will need to provide 1-2 cupcakes each week according to their child’s dietary needs as well as 2 8” round cakes near the end of the class for grades 4-6. NOTE: Cupcakes/cakes can be baked and frozen so you only need to bake once or possibly twice for this class.
Regular buttercream frosting will be used and here again if there is a special dietary need the paren would need to furnish the frosting to meet their child’s need.
Decorator gel colorings will be used to color the frostings.
A COST ADJUSTMENT WILL BE MADE FOR THOSE WHO SUPPLY THEIR OWN CAKES/ FROSTING DUE TO SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS
PLEASE RESPOND IF YOUR CHILD WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THIS CLASS. ALSO STATE WHETHER THEY WOULD BE IN CLASS 1 OR CLASS 2.
