An opportunity to serve your homeschool community--vacancy on the board.
Good evening fellow RAHS families!
We had some changes to our board this winter and are now looking for a willing member to offer to serve in the Member at Large #1 (Website Administrator) role. Will you pray about this...is it you?
The stint for this role would be through the board's transition meeting scheduled in July 2024, thereby fulfilling the balance of this term.
This role involves the following:
Found in Article 8 of our Bylaws--Section 7. The Member-at-Large, Position 1: Website Administrator, as well as attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and participate in all the decision-making processes of the Board, shall also perform the duties of the Website Administrator which will include the following: 1) ensure website upkeep that reflects the core RAHS values, 2) oversee the database of active and inactive memberships, 3) work with the Public Relations Administrator, and 4) maintain the official RAHS email. More information is available upon request.
Qualifications to serve this role: you'll need to be currently homeschooling and in your 3rd or greater year. (Bylaw terminology states completing your 2nd or more year, but we are looking at an appointment, not an elected filling of the role.)
A large benefit to stepping up and saying yes is the brevity of this service...it would give you a glimpse into the board and see if it might be a good fit for you for future roles! Elections are in May and our President Elect Jasmine Lozano will soon be looking for candidates for the ballot! Otherwise, we're talking 6 months.
Another thing to mention is that you would receive training as well as support for the role. You would not be alone!
In accordance with our Bylaws, this would be an appointment by the president and not an elected office. (Article 7 Section 5. Any vacancy occurring on the Board shall be filled by appointment by the President for the balance of the term, subject to confirmation by the existing Board.)
Please post here or reach out to me if you'd like to talk about the potential of serving. And thanks!

I’d love to discuss this role with anyone interested and happy to walk alongside you during your time serving RAHS!
