Want to help our veterans?
At enrichment today we will have a box labeled if you would like to donate any non-perishable food items to the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin. The VOW is a wonderful resource here in Racine that helps our veterans and their families. The need has increased greatly in the recent months.
If you have anything in your cupboards for today - grab it and throw it in the box. I'll post more info so we can be better prepared for next week. (This idea just happened - but I know we all have a few things we wouldn't mind grabbing!)

This is the message from a friend some of you know, Les Hedrington, who spurred our collection on. Hopefully that helps to better understand the need. Again, thank you so much for being helping hands to those in need. "Hello family and friends I was at the veterans outreach today and on Wednesdays they are open from noon until 6:00. We started this time change approximately 5 months ago to serve more veterans in need after they get home from working so we have an evening shift on Wednesday nights. Few months ago we were only getting maybe 1 to 9 people coming in on Wednesday evenings today we actually broke a record in 59 veterans came in for food for themselves and their family. It's a record I don't like to hear about because that means there's a lot of people in need and there's a lot of food insecurities out in this world. But I'm asking for a big favor the shelves at the market is almost bare. I haven't seen it that bear in a long time in the beginning of the year we had approximately 200 veterans per month go through then it went to 400 our numbers are getting close to 600 that go through the food pantry. I know times are tough but if you can help they would really appreciate it. With the picture above there's a list of food that they can use the address is there for a Dropbox after hours or if you would like message me and I will find a way to pick it up from you. Thank you anything is appreciated"
